Being this kid who’s the child of immigrants, a first-generation American who grew up speaking German, who grew up gay in Wyoming, I’ve always had this fight in me to have my voice heard. My first show was when I was 8, and it feels good to have continued to do work here, even through all the changes. I will grip onto this space as hard as I can because we need it. Queer people need a space to gather. Weird, creative people need a space to gather. We pull in audiences; our cast is talented. It would be really nice to have the opportunity to showcase to our own community members that we’ve got it. We can do it; we can create a vibrant community. We just need the support and the space — and here it is.
