EPA denies Colstrip air permit, cites pollution


The Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation in Montana last year became the first area in the country to be designated as a pure, "Class I" air shed. Now, the Environmental Protection Agency is protecting that air by refusing to let five utilities built two Montana coal-fired power plants, Colstrip units 3 and 4.
