HCN's Soundtable spring 2015

The HCNU classroom program presents a live radio discussion, "When in (Mega?) Drought," April 8 at 6 p.m. Mountain time. We'll be broadcasting and live-streaming from our local radio station, KVNF, in Paonia, Colorado, with four experts on water, drought, agriculture and the climate.

Are we in a megadrought, and if so how do we secure a well-watered future for the American West?

NOTE: This audio will be live on, Wednesday, April 8 at 6 p.m. Mountain time.

At the Soundtable, we'll discuss these and other questions for the region’s cities, agriculture and ecosystems with:

  • Patricia Mulroy, former general manager for the Southern Nevada Water Authority;
  • George Frisvold, an agricultural economist at the University of Arizona;
  • Jennifer Pitt, director of the Colorado River Program for the Environmental Defense Fund; and
  • Jonathan Overpeck, co-director of the Institute of the Environment at the University of Arizona.

We’ll be taking "tweet-in" questions during the broadcast: @highcountrynews #HCNU.

Please send questions in advance by .

Tune in at kvnf.org on April 8 at 6 p.m. Mountain time.
