Joshua Tree Giant Sloth

Joshua Tree Giant Sloth

Who knows if giant sloths were nocturnal, much less orange in color. But this past April, one appeared in Joshua Tree National Park. Extinct for more than ten thousand years in North America, the wonders of modern technology made this apparition materialize for our cameras during a Light and Shape night photography workshop. Instructor Kevin Osborn, with Jason Bradley Photographic Workshops, moved steadily among the tree-like yuccas with a “pixel stick” a bar of programable lights that creates patterns of light.
