Flame and Horsehead Nebulae

This image is of the Flame and Horsehead Nebulae, and was "shot" through a 127mm Explore Scientific refractor employing a Canon XSi DSLR camera. The effective focal ratio is f/5.25. The photo is a result a result of combining 23 separate images. My setup is out on the mesa just west of Taos, NM and takes advantage of the wonderful dark skies of northern New Mexico.
