Edge of the World

Edge of the World

Bear Sign Canyon from near East Pocket Knob, northern Arizona. When you least expect it, the seemingly endless flat mesas of ponderosa pine forest surrounding Flagstaff and the Mogollon Rim give way to treacherous gorges and ravines, and spectacular vistas. This view looking south toward Sedona is a favorite backyard camping spot for locals and travelers alike, although dozens of other spots on dozens of other canyons can be found in almost every direction throughout Arizona’s canyon country. Here, there are no campgrounds, no services, no fees. Like your own backyard, you can simply do what you please.
