Mt. St. Helens Volcanic National Monument is truly out of this world. The 1980 eruption devastated the lush forest of the cascades, over time, plants slowly creeped back into the blast zone until eventually fields of wild flowers took over. Penstemon, Lupine, and Indian Paintbrush make visiting Mt. St. Helens phenomenal in the summer time.
