The latest episode of our monthly podcast, West of 100, is ready for listening! It accompanies Greg Hanscom’s recent cover story about Black Diamond CEO Peter Metcalf, and his crusade to turn the outdoor gear industry into a force for nature.

As Greg reports, it’s been a process characterized by fits and starts, and the industry’s contribution to conservation is still relatively paltry.

So too with the ski industry and the biggest threat to its survival: climate change. In the podcast, we talk with Auden Schendler, Aspen Skiing Company’s sustainability VP, who has been leading the climate charge within the industry, and believes ski corporations need to embrace activism. We also check in with Jeremy Jones, professional snowboarder turned climate activist.

Listen in! You can tune in on our website, or subscribe through iTunes. New episodes come out around the middle of each month.
