The High Country News internship not only got me started in journalism, but it opened my eyes and ears to the power of reporting and photography. Most importantly, the rigors of HCN's boot camp essentially taught me how to write. An HCN internship is one of the greatest ways for new or old journalists to not only hone their reporting skills, but to objectively cover natural resource issues in all of their complexities.
