Prongies on the Move - move the most to donate!

Month after month, High Country News brings us tales of wonder from around the West. Now’s our chance to give back a little. A generous alumnus threw down $10,000 as a match challenge to the rest of the veterans of the internship program. Former interns and their friends are banding into small herds and competing to see who can pull together the biggest heap of matching funds.

hcncovergoatsTeam "Prongies on the Move" is made up of past intern Emilene Ostlind and a group of diligent HCN readers from the square state – Joslin Heyward, Alyssa Wechsler, Leah Yandow, Sara Domek and Claire Lukens – who are working together to raise some cash for the internship fund. Each of us is asking all of our friends, foes and family members to make a contribution to the campaign. This June, as the culmination of our fundraising effort, we’ll be making the long-distance migration to join the rest of the teams in the so-called Paonia summer range for an intern reunion and a climb up nearby Mt. Lamborn. The team that raises the most funds and the team to reach the mountain summit first win prizes!

Helping out is easy. Donate to "Prongies on the Move" and you’ll not only be ensuring that intrepid journalism continues to range across the West, but you’ll also be entered in a drawing to win some great prizes!

(The Prongies came in second place, getting 33 total donations, and winning CamelBak hydration day packs. Thanks Prongies!)

If you are seeing this box appear multiple times, then something is not allowing the cookie to be stored properly. Browsers can be set to not allow cookies, and some people choose to disallow cookies for security reasons. If your browser is setup this way, please consider adding "www.hcn.org" as an exception to your no-cookies rule. For information about how to do this, just search the Web for "browser cookie exceptions."

If you're sure this isn't the problem, then it could be related to how your browser has stored information from our site in previous visits. Browsers often "cache" images, text and other website content in order to make them appear faster if you ever go back. Sometimes the browser's cache can be corrupted or become outdated. The simplest fix for this is to try reloading the page. If that doesn't fix the problem, it may be necessary to clear your temporary items from your browser. Again, a web search will provide you with lots of options and instructions.

Either way, we're sorry to hear that this box is getting in the way of your enjoyment of the HCN website. If you continue to have trouble, please contact our Subscriber Services team.
