  • Monthly gifts are easy on your budget: $12 per month (40 cents a day, or the cost of one pair of nice hiking socks) provides dependable support for the research and writing of stories in High Country News.
  • Your subscription to HCN will be automatically renewed at no charge for your monthly pledge of $12 or more -- no more renewal notices in the mail!
  • You'll receive our tri-annual newsletter just for members of the monthly giving program.
  • A record of your gifts will appear on your monthly bank or credit card statement.
  • We'll contact you on an annual basis to make sure you're satisfied with your participation in the monthly giving program (and, if necessary, to update the expiration date on your credit/debit card).
  • Your contributions are tax-deductible, and you will receive an annual tax receipt in January of each year. (For your monthly gift of $12 or more, your subscription will be automatically renewed at no additional cost to. However, the value of your subscription -- $37 -- must be reflected in your year-end tax receipt.)
  • We'll recognize your membership in the pages of High Country News and in our annual report, unless you wish to remain anonymous.
  • It's easy to change or suspend your gift at any time. Depending on when we receive your request, changes may not take effect until the
    following month.
