Historically here in central Colorado, Snowshoe Hare have been found in higher altitude and more dense forest. I now have at least one on my property at 7,000 ft. elevation in Aspen forest and somewhat open terrain. I have lived here for over 40 years and this is a first. Maybe they're adapting by expanding their habitat.
