Evolving wetlands

  -Change in the West: The Evolution of the Watershed Approach" is the title of the sixth annual conference of the Colorado Riparian Association, Oct. 5-7 in Alamosa, Colo. Representatives from federal agencies, The Wilderness Society, The Nature Conservancy and Western universities as well as local ranchers will talk about shifting demands on riparian areas, case studies of watershed management, along with a session on "How to reach the unreachables ... bringing the message of good riparian management to those "unreachable ranchers." " The conference fee of $70 for members, $85 for nonmembers, includes a field trip to local wildlife areas and a private-wetland partnership project.
