California Water Map

It's not quite Cadillac Desert, but the updated California Water Map goes a long way toward explaining the state's complex network of water projects. The large color map, published by the Water Education Foundation, shows the location of dams, reservoirs, aqueducts and wild and scenic rivers around the state. The nonprofit educational foundation also publishes a Spanish edition of the map, a Colorado River Water Map, and a series of layperson's guides to water conservation in the West. For more information, write to the Water Education Foundation at 717 K St., Suite 517, Sacramento, CA 95814, call 916/444-6240 or find their Web page at www.water-ed.org.
