Real Estate and Development in the Northern Rockies

Missoula, Montana from Nov 20, 2008 05:45 AM to Nov 20, 2008 05:45 AM

NewWest.Net will present its third annual conference on Real Estate and Development in the Northern Rockies, on October 23rd and 24th.

This unique event brings together investors, brokers, developers, architects, lenders, attorneys, journalists, government officials and non-profit leaders for a robust series of discussions and presentations about the real estate explosion in the region. Get the latest intelligence on market trends, hear from innovative developers and investors, learn about the most important new projects and policy developments, and join the conversation about the future of the Rockies.

Highlights of the conference will include:

  • Detailed discussion of both urban and rural development trends in the region
  • Analysis of market trends in Western Montana, Southwest Montana, Idaho and Wyoming
  • Discussion of critical conservation and public policy issues including conservation easements, stream setbacks and growth planning
  • Marketing innovations from a panels of experts on marketing through a downturn
  • A review of creative approaches to architecture and environmentally friendly development
  • Actionable information and networking opportunities for current and prospective participants in the biggest growth industry in the Rocky Mountain West

We are delighted to present this year's keynote speakers:

• Rick Holley, CEO of Plum Creek Timber, who will offer insight into the long-term plans of the nation's (and Montana's) largest private landowner.

• Christopher Thornberg of Beacon Economics, who will once again offer his highly engaging -- and, if the past is any guide -- dead-on accurate assessment of market trends. His presentation will be followed by a discussion featuring Federal Reserve Bank economist Toby Madden, Center for the Rocky Mountain West economist Larry Swanson, and North Idaho real estate economist David Eacret.

• Tim Egan, author and New York Times columnist, will discuss the shifting political landscape in the West and how that relates to land use and development -- a topic sure to be on many peoples' minds just ahead of the presidential election.
