Montana deserves a mention, because Montanans can carry a concealed gun without a permit as long as they're outside city limits -- meaning, nearly everywhere in Montana. I asked an expert, Gary Marbut, head of the Montana Shooting Sports Association, for details, and he says: "A permit is not required to carry concealed in 99.4% of Montana (outside city limits); a permit is not required even inside city limits in a person's home or place of business." But Marbut adds, even if a Montanan has a permit to carry concealed inside city limits, "there are certain places where that permit may not be exercised, such as in a bar, bank or publicly-owned and staffed building."

Why the hysteria and phobia against concealed weapons? Would you rather that people carry them exposed? Or is this an anti-gun hit piece...

According to Idaho state law:

"If you are outside the city limits or confines of a city, and, if you are hunting, fishing, trapping or some other lawful outdoor activity, you are not required to have a concealed weapons permit."
