For the past several years, journalist Judith Lewis has been covering the ups and downs of the resurgence of nuclear power in this country. In 2006, she wrote for HCN about the challenges of keeping an aging nuclear infrastructure alive, and about the the disposal of nuclear waste, which she called the industry's Achilles' heel. Lewis' latest installment on the new nuke era is about Yucca Mountain, the epitome of that Achilles' heel. She spoke recently with HCN's Marty Durlin about the search for a waste dump.
