Party Host Responsibilities & Expectations

40 x 40 FUNdraising Party Host Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Plan and host a FUNdraising party for High Country News during the week of April 17-25, 2010
  • Send invitations for party (regular post or e-mail)
  • Make follow-up phone calls to guest list, to encourage attendance
  • Recruit new subscribers and new donors
  • Solicit donations for High Country News
  • Arrange for all necessary materials to be brought to the party (you should consider recruiting helpers)
  • Assume costs of planning and hosting a party (receipts may be copied and submitted as an in-kind donation to High Country News)
  • Keep a record of party attendees (name and contact info. for use by High Country News)
  • Fill out a quick post-party evaluation

 

High Country News assumes the following responsibilities:

  • To support party hosts with materials, thank you gift bag, information, ideas, suggestions via information on the Web site, e-mail and phone support
  • To collect and record donations (donations should be mailed directly to High Country News using specially coded envelopes provided by us to the host)
  • To send thank you notes and tax receipts for all donations
  • Prize distribution (drawing names of Sweepstakes winners, mailing prizes)
  • To evaluate which party brought in the most new subscribers and most money donated per capita
  • Contacting prize winners: contest winners will contacted by High Country News and will also be recognized in the magazine and on the 40th Anniversary Web site
